Homemade Vanilla Latte

A classic.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best.  No fancy ingredients or complicated steps, just a coffee house classic made right at home!

What You'll Need

2 shots of espresso (love using Undertow)

6oz of milk

1 to 2 tbsp homemade vanilla syrup (recipe below)

Lots of ice (if drinking cold)

For the Homemade Vanilla Syrup

1 cup of water

1 cup of sugar

2 tbsp of vanilla bean paste

How to Make It

1. Make the syrup: combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove grom heat, stir in the vanilla bean paste, and let cool.

2. Brew two shots of espresso.

3. Stir your desired amount of vanilla syrup into the espresso.

4. For an iced latte, fill a glass with ice, add your milk, and pour the espresso mixture over the top.

5. For a hot latte, steam or froth your milk and pour it over the espresso mixture.

A Little Tip From the House: Homemade vanilla syrup is easy to make ahead and keep on hand for your daily coffee.  Store it in a clean, airtight container in the refrigerator and use within about two weeks.
